Leyla Sefket (American, b. 2003) is a visual artist whose work examines the facade of suburbia. Working primarily in painting, she draws attention to the uncanny within the familiar. Isolating the quiet, iconic elements of American suburban life that often go unnoticed. Rooted in her upbringing in Levittown, New York, her imagery moves between stillness and distortion: homes suspended in time, figures intertwined with suburban symbols. Through these scenes, Sefket explores the emotional weight and underlying strangeness embedded in everyday environments.

Sefket received her BFA in Fine Arts from Ringling College of Art and Design. Her work has been exhibited in group shows across Florida and New York, and she has held positions in both gallery and museum contexts, including the Sarasota Art Museum and Crossley Gallery. Now based in New York, she continues to develop work centered on memory, place, and the surreal logic of the familiar.
